Why is the barber riddle such a big deal? Isn't it just silly drivel?

If a "solution" to this paradox is necessary, it would be to simply insert the sentence "the preceding statement is false statement" directly afterward. This allows the statement to have a non-false existence in the universe of words (ironically enough) -- for it is now balanced by a simple, undeniably true statement that "unparadoxes" it.
