How to fight and "Improper backing" ticket?

here's the situation i was preparing to back out of my driveway and noticed a car parked across the street directly in front of my driveway. i proceeded to slowly back up and hit the driver's side door of the parked vehicle causing two minor dents on the door. i had no idea who's car it was and knocked on a couple doors across the street when i finally found the driver i called my ins comp. the first thing he said was "i shouldn't have parked there i knew someone could hit it there" he said we had to call the police to file an accident claim the ins said it was not necessary unless someone was injured or the vehicles were not driveable i didn't argue with the man. the police came asked questions took our ins info and made up the accident report he tells the man he just wanted to let him know that his car is not insured and issues no ticket to him then tells me he has to give me a ticket for $103.00 for improper backing. how can i avoid paying the ticket or at least reducing it
