PC or CD problem? My CD's wont play?

I have an Advent 3112 PC and about 4 months ago I found my CD's wont play on it anymore, the drive lights up and makes noise but it just stops afterwards, I've also tried on a Toshiba laptop and again nothing, I also tried having the songs put on a USB but the songs wont go on because they are not the right format, the CD's are new (Green Day and Paramore), is it them or the PC? Please help
